“A bigger & bolder iPhone with more power and battery life”

Apple products, especially phones, are well known in the world for their beautiful design and flawless features. Sadly, they are also known for low battery power, but this is an aspect admirers of the brand learned to accept. Well, with the iPhone 6S Plus, Apple tried and succeeded to redeem themselves in front of clients everywhere by implementing an improved battery and a better camera.

Because the phone itself is bigger, the battery is bigger, which means more power. Also, the camera was significantly improved due to the optical image stabilization implementation, fact that allows users to take better pictures in conditions of low light. Does this mean the iPhone 6S Plus is the perfect phone you could find on the market? That depends on who you ask, but these improvements did come with a sacrifice: the device is big, too big honestly.

Even if iPhone 6S Plus may seem like a better choice in terms of features, the increased size can be upsetting for users with small hands and pockets. Talking about pockets, the size also means a bigger price for the new Apple device; users can find it at around $700 to $1000.

Almost as big as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the 5.5 inches screen does make a great first impression. The LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors supports a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a density of 401ppi. Even though this resolution seems like Apple doesn’t try in this area (given the fantastic resolution introduced by Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge+), they are forced to stick with a screen that doesn’t drain the battery.

Just like its sibling, the 6S Plus is also equipped with the newest invention from Apple: the 3D Touch, a new type of Touchscreen that is pressure-sensitive.

The big screen size can be upsetting, but the Retina Display does present images and videos with an amazing accuracy, just like always.

The 6S Plus is equipped with an A9 chipset and a Dual Core Twister processor with 64-bit architecture that runs at 1.84 GHz. The PowerVR GT7600 GPU and 2GB of RAM memory help complete the hardware configuration that promotes a fast and efficient device. Actually, iPhones are fast by nature and the iOS 9 is better at managing performance and advanced features.

Apple seems to be stuck with the 16GB of extra storage space for the basic model, but if you are not a power user, you should do just fine. Of course, the 64GB and 128GB are available, but that means digging deeper in your pocket.

Like any other high-end smartphones on the market, the 6S Plus is also equipped with dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2. Also, the NFC connection is available but it only works with Apple Pay.

Battery Life

As mentioned before, the battery is bigger and packs more power than the one on iPhone 6S, thus will keep longer. Also, the new device comes with a new power plan that allows users to save on battery when not using the phone for demanding tasks.

The new non-removable Li-Po 2750 mAh battery is bound to keep the phone active for 24 hours of full power use. This is a real improvement when talking about an iPhone!

The design is not very different from the iPhone 6S except for size and it also comes in a variety of finishes that make this series look smooth and elegant. The traditional curved lines are still in place and the beautiful Retina display looks better than ever.

Also, the 7000 series aluminum used on the casing ensures clients that skinny jeans are not iPhone’s worst enemy anymore.

Camera & Features

With the release of the new iPhone 6S Plus fans were able to relax: finally the camera got better! Besides the 12MP introduced with the 6 series, this device also introduces optical image stabilization which is a huge step for iPhone cameras.

The best feature this new camera implements is an astonishing level of details.

Final thoughts

  • Better battery
  • Better camera
  • Better performance
  • An improved casing
  • It is a big phone
  • It doesn’t differ that much from the 6S model

If you have the pockets and the wallet, the iPhone 6S Plus is an amazing phone that will charm you with an amazing OS, advanced and innovative features, a better battery and fantastic design. Still, you should keep in mind that it is fairly similar with its predecessor.
