“A modern and cordless vacuum cleaner for An easier job”

The niche of home cleaning is populated by all sorts of products these days, but vacuum cleaners still remain the piece de resistance. Even though the technology advanced, you still need a vacuum cleaner to collect the dust, dirt and clean the carpets.

The Dyson V6 Absolute is among one of the most modern products in the vacuum cleaner’s niche as it promotes a cordless design, easy handling and a powerful engine that is supposed to leave the house spotless. To make a perfect job, the producer included two different cleaning heads for this stick vacuum cleaner: one for the hardwood floor and one for carpets. Each of these heads is specially designed to manage both fine dust and bigger debris at the same time.

The thing that we think you’ll appreciate the most is the handling. Being a stick vacuum cleaner, the user doesn’t have to bend their back anymore. This allows for a more comfortable position during cleaning and implicitly, less back pain.

So, the Dyson V6 Absolute is an efficient and powerful stick vacuum cleaner that doesn’t need to be plugged in in order to function. The initial description sounds good, but is it worth the steep price ($450 – $600)?

Type & Design

As already mentioned, the Dyson V6 Absolute is a stick and cordless vacuum cleaner designed to behave well on both hardwood floors and carpets.

The design is pretty much what you would expect from a stick vacuum cleaner, but the clever part is the weight distribution. With the Dyson V6 Absolute the entire engine, the dustbin and the filters are all situated very close the user’s hand, and the red wand that comes out of it can be connected to the cleaning head. This allows for a simpler handling of the head without the user feeling tired.

The combination of gray, red and blue makes it a bit more cheerful than many other vacuum cleaners out there.

What’s in the Box

The box contains the engine, a Li-Ion battery that helps users run the vacuum cleaner for about 20 minutes, a HEPA filter that is mounted in the engine area for filtering the air that goes out, the wand that connects the engine with the cleaning head, the direct-drive clean head, a mini motorized tool that can be used for removing pet hair and dirt that’s been settled, and the soft-roller clean head. You will also receive a charging dock that can be easily mounted on the wall.

Handling & Usability

Due to its efficient weight distribution, the vacuum cleaner is very easy to handle and it doesn’t tire the arm. It is pretty light (around 4 pounds) and the cleaning head can be easily directed upwards, sideways or introduced under the furniture.

The Dyson V6 Absolute can be easily used on hardwood floors (it won’t scratch them) and on carpets. Also, it can be used on cushions, armchairs, couches, ceilings, stairs and edges. The bin is extremely easy to empty and there are no bags that you have to touch.

Sadly, the Dyson V6 Absolute is too expensive for the performance it is capable to offer. The first problem is the battery. The vacuum cleaner has only two speeds: low and high. On the low speed, the battery will hold for 20 minutes, as promised, but the suction power is very low. On high setting, the suction power is significantly increased, but the battery won’t last more than 5 to 6 minutes.

The other impediment users might feel frustrated about is the charging time. It takes about 3.5 hours to charge and you can’t use it while charging.

The Dyson V6 Absolute handles pet hair pretty well and it does a good job when set on high but it can be pretty difficult to clean a big house with it because of the low battery life and small bin (0.4 liters).

The noise is within normal limits when the device is set on low speed, but it increases when the high speed setting is activated. Still, it is not something your neighbors are going to complain about.

Final Thoughts

  • Sleek design and nice colors;
  • Carpet and hardwood floors cleaner heads;
  • Easy to use and great weight distribution
  • Low battery life on high speed
  • Long time for recharging

The stick, cordless Dyson V6 Absolute is a fancy vacuum cleaner that looks good and is easy to handle, but it doesn’t behave well on large surfaces. The price is a bit exaggerated for a vacuum cleaner that won’t clean a bigger living room because of battery issues.
