Hoover Air Cordless 3.0 Review

“Affordable, easy to handle & efficient – the perfect vacuum cleaner”

The Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 is a well designed vacuum cleaner that has the capacity to clean the entire house without too many complaints. The vacuum cleaner is powerful and reliable, and even though it doesn’t know how to clean the house alone like the latest gadgets in the niche (the iRobot Roomba 980 and the Samsung Powerbot VR9000) it does know how to do a heavy-duty job perfectly.

Even though it doesn’t have the latest technologies in automatic cleaning integrated in its engine, the Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 brings an element of innovation: the LithiumLife Battery Technology that allows this cordless vacuum cleaner to work constantly for about 50 minutes.

The device is light (under 10 lbs) and implements an innovative steering system that allows users to clean under furniture easily, without having to make too many moves. One of the things that really impressed us is the fact that even though it is a cordless model, it does manage to offer the same power an upright vacuum cleaner would.

The other thing that will really raise users’ interest is the extremely affordable price. For just about $200, users will be able to receive one of the latest vacuum cleaning devices that implements new technologies and cleaning methods.

Type & Design

The Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 is a stick vacuum cleaner that runs on batteries. This way, the producers found a clever way to remove those annoying wires and those big tubes and offer users the same power, on a battery operated mechanism.

The design is pretty straight forward, but unlike the Dyson V6 Absolute, the mechanism and the disposal bin are placed on the lower side of the vacuum cleaner. This makes it look a bit bulky and heavy, but looks are deceiving in this case.

The fact that you can actually see the dirt and dust being sucked in through the dirt path is pretty interesting and creates a sensation of comfort.

What’s in the Box

The box comes with the vacuum cleaner itself, a brushroll designed especially for hardwood floors, one rotating dust brush, a filter that can be reused, a crevice for dusting and other activities, one battery charger and 2 Li-Ion batteries (each one will allow the vacuum cleaner to work for about 25 minutes).

Handling & Usability

The Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 is very easy to handle due to its lightweight and the fact that it can be easily collapsed into something smaller and easy to store.

The head moves extremely easy due to the loose wheels and the pivot ball, so you don’t have to insist or invest any extra effort. Users simply have to guide the head using their wrist and use a small push for moving it in front.

Performance

Thanks to the two available batteries, the Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 is one of the most powerful cordless vacuums on the market. This is why this device can clean an entire home without having to take any breaks. If the first battery runs out, the second one will take its place and the job will continue.

Because it doesn’t have smart sensors, the brushroll must be turned on and off manually when going from hardwood floors to carpets and rugs. This can be both an advantage and a disadvantage, according to each user’s preferences. The suction power remains constant all the time due to the WindTunnel 3 Technology that uses three different channels of suction, thus lifting any debris or well settled dirt. Also, the Cyclonic Technology filters were included, in order to stop any debris or dirt that could tangle the engine and thus reduce the suction power.

Noise

The Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 is not particularly noisy, but you will definitely know if someone else is using it in the house. The recorded sound level is somewhere around 83 – 85 decibels which is comparable to the street sound when there’s traffic.

Final Thoughts

PROS:
  • Affordable
  • Great collapsible design
  • Powerful, even though it is a cordless model
  • Very easy to handle and reach under furniture
CONS:
  • The design is a bit chunky
  • You have to switch the brushes manually

It may not have the latest technology in floor cleaning, but it does offer an effective and affordable solution that gives you freedom from cords and big tubes. The Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 is a great vacuum cleaner to have around the house!
